June 2008: Since publication, typographical errors in two recommendations have been corrected in the electronic versions of the NICE guideline and the full guideline on this website:

* recommendation 1.9.1 (R72 in the full guideline) - 'macroalbuminuria' has been corrected to say 'microalbuminuria'

* recommendation 1.13.9 (R112 in the full guideline) - 'visual activity' has been corrected to say 'visual acuity'.

The printed and electronic versions of the quick reference guide contain the correct versions of these recommendations, and the 'Understanding NICE guidance' booklet is not affected.
