NICE has assessed DySIS and the Niris Imaging System to help the NHS decide whether to use these products.
A colposcopy is an examination that uses a colposcope to give a magnified view of the cervix, to check for abnormalities. DySIS is a new type of colposcope, and the Niris Imaging System is a piece of equipment that is used alongside a normal colposcope. The aim of DySIS and the Niris Imaging System is to give healthcare professionals more information than a normal colposcopy.
NICE has said that DySIS works well and provides value for money, and should be considered when NHS organisations are planning to buy colposcopy equipment. NICE has said that there is not enough evidence to work out if the Niris Imaging system provides value for money.
