Brief interventions and referral for smoking cessation: costing report

A costing report and costing template have been produced by NICE to provide an implementation tool to estimate the resource impact to the NHS of implementing the public health intervention on smoking cessation.

The costing report focuses on the financial impact of the key factors in this public health intervention for England. The report has been prepared in consultation with the technical leads and has been approved for publication by the Institute. It should be noted that the cost and activity assessments in the report are estimates based on a number of assumptions. These assessments provide an indication of the likely impact of the principal recommendations and are not absolute figures.
