Exploring the potential for strengthening paediatric guideline development in Kenya

In November 2010, NICE International, in collaboration with Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), the Kenya Paediatric Association and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health undertook a scoping visit to Nairobi, Kenya to explore what assistance they may be able to provide in the development of paediatric clinical practice guidelines in Kenya. The visit was funded by the Tropical Health and Education trust (THET).

Colleagues visited local and district hospitals and held a workshop with policy makers and clinicians to gain insights to challenges in practice, gather views on the use of clinical practice guidelines and agree steps for future involvement.
