Jenny Griffiths, Non-Executive Director
Jenny Griffiths has been a non-executive director at NICE since 2005.
Career history
Jenny is a former NHS manager with 11 years' experience as a health authority chief executive in the NHS, most recently as Chief Executive of West Surrey Health Authority (1998-2001). She was independent chair of the Connexions Surrey Partnership from 2002 to 2007 and is also chair of Headway Surrey.
She has worked independently since 2001. She has long been active in the development of multi-disciplinary public health nationally and is closely associated with the UK Public Health Register, which regulates public health professionals from backgrounds other than medicine.
She is a consultant with the Royal Society for Public Health and has led projects for the Department of Health on the role of pharmacists in public health and, particularly, on the development of the specialised health promotion workforce.
She is also active in the field of climate change and health, working with the Faculty of Public Health and the Health and Sustainability Network.
Jenny is also a fellow of the Faculty of Public Health and of the Royal Society for Public Health and a member of the Institute of Health Management.
