NICE information services team
Information Services supports guidance development by providing our staff with access to high quality, timely information. The team also provides Institute-wide services.
How we support guidance development:
- evaluate topic suggestions and produce information for topic selection consideration panels
- systematically search literature to help develop short clinical guidelines and interventional procedures
- quality assure information provided by external contractors
- search literature to help develop technology appraisal and public health topic scopes and guidance review proposals.
Our Institute-wide services:
- libraries in the London and Manchester offices with books and reference material
- access to on-line or print journals and bibliographic databases
- inter library loans
- current awareness bulletins
- information skills training courses
- developing and maintaining NICE's taxonomy and managing publication indexing
- reference service for ad-hoc queries.
