NICE information services team

Information Services supports guidance development by providing our staff with access to high quality, timely information. The team also provides Institute-wide services.

How we support guidance development:

  • evaluate topic suggestions and produce information for topic selection consideration panels
  • systematically search literature to help develop short clinical guidelines and interventional procedures
  • quality assure information provided by external contractors
  • search literature to help develop technology appraisal and public health topic scopes and guidance review proposals.

Our Institute-wide services:

  • libraries in the London and Manchester offices with books and reference material
  • access to on-line or print journals and bibliographic databases
  • inter library loans
  • current awareness bulletins
  • information skills training courses
  • developing and maintaining NICE's taxonomy and managing publication indexing
  • reference service for ad-hoc queries.
