Heavy menstrual bleeding

Diagnosis and management of heavy menstrual bleeding

Status: History
Publication date: January 2007
Wave: 8
Process: CG
Notes:

Please note there have been major changes to the scope in response to stakeholder comments. Following discussion, the Department of Health have agreed that the guideline should be extended to cover not just hysterectomy but the pathway for diagnosis and management of heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia). This change to the scope allows the alternatives to hysterectomy to be evaluated and the choices available clearly set out for women.

Topic area:
  • Gynaecology, pregnancy and birth
