24 April 2002	This guidance is part of a series of cancer service guidance, which aims to provide advice on how services in the NHS should be organised to provide effective services to people with certain conditions. It is different from a clinical guideline, which provides advice on the assessment and treatment of individuals with a specific condition. However the development process is very similar to that used for guidelines. See below for more information on the Institute's guideline development process. Consultation on the draft scope is complete and the scope is being modified in the light of comments received. When completed it will be posted on the website. It will define what aspects of care the guidance will cover and to whom it will apply.
