Information for the public

NICE has assessed the BCM – Body Composition Monitor, InBody S10 and MultiScan 5000 devices to help the NHS decide whether to use these products. These devices all help health professionals to decide how much fluid needs to be removed from a person’s body during dialysis using small, painless electrical signals.

There is not enough evidence to recommend the routine use of the BCM – Body Composition Monitor, InBody S10 or MultiScan 5000 in the NHS. Further research is needed to show how useful the BCM – Body Composition Monitor is. Centres which are using, or want to use this device should collect information when using it.
