NICE has said that Plus Sutures can be used in the NHS as part of a bundle of care for preventing surgical site infection for people who need wound closure after a surgical procedure when absorbable sutures are an option.
Plus Sutures is a range of absorbable sutures that are covered with or contain triclosan. Triclosan is an antimicrobial which helps to reduce the risk of surgical site infection for at least 7 days.
