Parkinson's disease: the care you should expect
This information explains the care that NICE has said works best for adults with Parkinson's disease. It will help you, your family and carers know what to expect from health and care services.
In December 2020 we updated our advice in our guideline on Parkinson's disease with a warning about modafinil – a medicine offered to some people with sleep problems. Modafinil should not be used during pregnancy or if a pregnancy is being planned. This is because of the risk of malformations in the baby.
