3 September 2012 The NCCs may make a focussed call for evidence on specific clinical questions or subquestions, after it has done initial searches. It will be able to make a call at any point during development of the guideline, and stakeholders will usually be given 4weeks to respond. The NCC will approach all registered stakeholders for this evidence. The NCC may not issue any calls for evidence for a guideline if the Guideline Development Group (GDG) feels it is not necessary. In addition, the NCCs will accept relevant confidential data for consideration by the GDG.
June 2012 Consultation on the draft scope is complete and the scope is being modified in the light of comments received. When completed it will be posted on the website. It will define what aspects of care the guideline will cover and to whom it will apply. The National Collaborating Centre and the Institute are in the process of agreeing details of the workplan including how the development will progress, the membership of the Guideline Development Group and timescales.
10 May 2012 NICE consulted on its scope for the clinical guideline Dyspepsia: Managing Dyspepsia in Adults in Primary Care (CG17) from 24/02/12 - 22/03/12. The consultation provided useful feedback from stakeholders but did not provide a clear consensus on the main areas of clinical practice that would benefit from national guidance. The scope has been revised following the initial consultation and NICE is now holding a second consultation on the revised scope. NICE welcomes any further feedback from its stakeholders on the revised scope, in particular, whether the revised scope addresses or omits any areas of specific importance to clinical practice.
18 October 2011 The first draft of the scope is currently in preparation. The scope will define what aspects of care the guideline will cover and to whom it will apply.
