Project history

The remit (see link below) for this guideline was received from the Department of Health and the Welsh Assembly Government in November 2005 as part of the Institute's 12th wave work programme.

3 July 2006 Draft scope available.
1 August 2006 Consultation on the draft scope is complete and the scope is being modified in the light of comments received. When completed it will be posted on the website. It will define what aspects of care the guideline will cover and to whom it will apply.
7 March 2007 List of stakeholders updated.
6 March 2008 Consultation on the draft of the guideline is complete and the guideline is being modified in the light of comments received.
05 June 2008 It was stated in the initial scope that TA 90 (clopidogrel and modified-release dipyridamole in the prevention of occlusive vascular events) would be incorporated. It was found that the content of the TA was not relevant to the acute management of stroke covered in this guideline. The scope has been amended
