NICE has assessed SecurAcath for securing percutaneous catheters to help the NHS decide whether to use this product.
SecurAcath is a small device which is used to keep catheters (a long, thin tube that is inserted into a vein through the skin) in place.
It is easy to insert and well tolerated. Most devices for keeping catheters in place must be regularly removed for cleaning, but SecurAcath can usually remain in place for as long as the catheter is needed.
SecurAcath can be used with any catheter which is going to be in place for at least 15 days.
