Public consultation on Evaluation Pathway Programme process guide and methods guide
NICE is consulting on the proposed process and methods guides for its new Evaluation Pathway Programme for Medical Technologies. The consultation will last for 12 weeks (18 June to 10 September 2010). We would like to receive comments on the documents from anyone who has an interest in or who is affected by the Programme.
The guides have been developed with substantial input from a number of individuals and organisations in the NHS, the medical technologies industry, academia, patient/ carer organisations and the Department of Health, who have participated in workshops and working group meetings and who have commented on drafts of the documents. Development of the guides has also been informed by NICE's experience of running other evaluation programmes.

The Evaluation Pathway Programme carries out two principal activities:
- Selection of medical technologies for evaluation by NICE programmes
- Development of medical technologies guidance.
Consultees should be careful to comment only on those sections of the EP Programme process and methods guides which are relevant to them.

How to submit your comments
Comments must be received on the appropriate comments form (see below). All comments will be published on the NICE website along with the name of the commentator and NICE's response. NICE will not respond to inappropriate comments. NICE reserves the absolute right to edit, summarise or remove comments received during consultation where, in the reasonable opinion of NICE, they may conflict with the law, are voluminous or are otherwise considered inappropriate.
Comments must be received by 5 pm on Friday 10 September 2010. The responses to the consultation will be considered by NICE's Board and, subject to Board approval, the Programme's final process and methods guides will be published early in 2011.
