Bursary scheme - terms and conditions

NICE 2008 – Excellence in Action

1. we are pleased to be able to offer a bursary scheme for a limited number of places at the 2008 NICE annual conference, for patient, carer and voluntary organisations. This scheme is in addition to the concessionary rate offered for patient and voluntary sector representatives.
2. The rates of subsidy are as follows:
   
   1 day attendance at NICE 2008 - £100 subsidy
   Original price £175.00 + VAT
   Bursary price £75.00 + VAT
   
   2 days attendance at NICE 2008 - £200 subsidy
   Original price £325.00 + VAT
   Bursary price £125.00 + VAT
   
3. The scheme is open to UK registered charities or voluntary organisations. Applications will also be considered from individual members of Local Involvement Networks (LINks) but not from local authority LINks leads.
   
4. One fully completed application per organisation only will be accepted.
   
5. Successful applicants will be notified as soon as possible after the closing date.
   
6. Feedback on the bursary scheme will be required after the conference.
   
7. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified as soon as possible after the closing date, in order to offer them the opportunity to apply for the concessionary rate for patient/voluntary sector representatives (see delegate registration on conference programme).
   
8. Deadline for applications is 5.00pm on Monday the 16th June. Applications received after this date will not be accepted.
   
9. Applications will be assessed by a member of the conference team, the Patient and Public Involvement Programme, PIN (the Patients Involved in NICE group), and a NICE Non-Executive Director.
   
10. Information supplied will be used by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence for the Annual Conference Bursary Scheme and will be held on the Institute's databases for future reference and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

What's included in your delegate pass?

a) Your 1 or 2-day attendance at the conference, including access to sessions, the exhibition, refreshments and lunch on the day(s) you are attending.

b) If you are attending for 2 days then the conference dinner will be included. If you are attending for 1 day, and wish to attend the dinner, you will need to purchase a ticket to conference dinner at a rate of £50.00 plus VAT per person.

c) The conference party after the dinner is included in either your 1 or 2-day pass.

What's not included?
a) Overnight accommodation in Manchester

b) Travel to and from the conference

c) Entry to the conference dinner (if you are attending only for 1 day).
