Encouraging clincial engagement
Following the success of last year's award, NICE is again sponsoring the HFMAs award. The theme of the award is 'Clinical Engagement' and is designed to recognise good practice of financial and clinical staff working together.
The award will be given to an individual, team or organisation that best demonstrates an innovative programme involving both finance staff and clinicians working together with the aim of improving services, or has demonstrably improved public health or healthcare service delivery. Programmes delivered with the aim of improving patient experiences or improved management of resources will also be considered if developed, implemented or managed by both finance staff and clinicians.
Last year's winner was the Christie Hospital in Manchester for the steps taken to look ahead, budget and plan for forthcoming guidance with both finance staff and clinicians working together, backed up by implementation and monitoring. If you think you have a good example of finance staff and clinicians working together to improve health, reduce inequalities or improve the patient experience please submit your entry by 26 September 2008.
