NICE has redesigned its implementation advice - what do YOU think about our new style?

In November 2006 members of the implementation team held a workshop allowing stakeholders to feed back their thoughts on what they thought were the most helpful elements of our implementation advice. They identified the following aspects:

  • advice on who should be involved in implementation
  • the areas where change may be needed
  • signposting to relevant resources and initiatives

In addition to highlighting the benefits, they also commented on ways that the implementation advice could be improved. They suggested that it should be kept short. We have consequently redesigned the implementation advice as the first step towards developing a more interactive online tool. We are now using an algorithm to support the stages of implementing NICE guidance outlined in the How to guide and signpost users to the relevant tools at each stage.

The first of our tools in the new style were published in May on antenatal post mental health and public health interventions guidance on sexually transmitted infections. We are keen to find out what you think about the new-style implementation advice. Please feedback your ideas.

Notice of delay to implementation support tools to support Clinical Guideline on Venous Thromboembolism

The slide set, audit criteria and implementation advice to support the clinical guideline on venous thromboembolism have been delayed to ensure that they best meet the specific needs of surgical specialists. We will update you on the publication date for the tools in the October bulletin.
