NICE guideline published on abatacept for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis
NICE published guidance today on the use of abatacept for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. It does not recommend abatacept as a treatment option for people with rheumatoid arthritis.
New NICE guidance on preventing hypothermia in surgery
NICE and the National Collaborating Centre for Nursing and Supportive Care have today issued a clinical guideline on preventing hypothermia in patients before, during and up to 24 hours after surgery (perioperative hypothermia).
Patients who develop perioperative hypothermia can experience a number of complications, including a greater chance of heart problems, higher rates of infection and increased blood loss.
