2006/015 NICE launches first public health guidance: focus on smoking cessation and physical activity

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) today (31 March 2006) issues its first national public health guidance on what works to help people stop smoking and to become more active.

This is the first of a programme of guidance that NICE will be producing to help everyone with an interest in promoting good health and preventing ill-health to do so in the most effective way.
