Life as a NICE lay representative
NICE involves patients, carers and other members of the public in many facets of its work. We asked one of our most active contributors, Susan Bennett, to discuss NICE and her work as a lay representative.

NICE Shared Learning Award 2007
North East Lincolnshire PCT and Bradford and Airedale PCT were joint winners of NICE's Shared Learning Award 2007. NE Lincolnshire won it for a buddy scheme aimed at people with pulmonary disease. Bradford and Airedale were awarded for an abnormal uterine bleeding service.

Dementia
NICE and the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) have jointly published a number of recommendations on how to identify, treat and care for people with dementia. This includes advice on the support carers should receive.
