NICE RESPONDS ON CANCER DRUGS APPRAISALS
NICE welcomes the announcement today that the Department of Health and National Assembly for Wales intend referring a range of cancer drugs to the Institute for Appraisal.
Professor Sir Michael Rawlins (Chair) said, "Ending post code prescribing and improving the treatment of cancer are both priorities for the NHS and as a part of the NHS the Institute welcomes this new work programme as it gives us a further opportunity to play our part in the modernisation of the service and to demonstrate the purpose for which NICE was established."
