NICE Enhances Clinical Guidelines and Audit Management Capacity

As the Institute's work programmes gather pace, changes to the senior team have resulted in additional resources being allocated to the teams responsible for clinical guidelines and audit.

The Institute's investment in promoting clinical audit will be enhanced by the creation of an Audit Programme Director. David Pink will take on this role from 5 February 2001, supported by Nikki Bromwich.

A second new post, Guidelines Programme Director is being advertised this week, along with two Guideline Commissioning Manager posts. Nancy Turnbull moves into a new post of Senior Commissioning Manager, reporting to the new Director. Peter Littlejohns, the Institute's Clinical Director, will take direct responsibility for the clinical guidelines programme until the new Director arrives (expected to be in May). He retains overall responsibility for the clinical guidelines and audit programmes through the two new director posts.

Andrea Sutcliffe, Planning and Resources Manager will continue her lead role in the commissioning of the new collaborating centres.

Anne-Toni Rodgers, Communication Director will assume the Institute's responsibility for the primary care decsion support system PRODIGY, from 12 February 2001.
