Issued: 22 May 2002
PRESS RELEASE
David Pink, Audit Programme Director at the National Institute for Clinical Excellence, will be leaving the Institute to take up the role of Chief Executive at the Long Term Medical Conditions Alliance (LMCA). The LMCA works with NICE as a member of the Institute's Partners Council, and as a consultee on a number of technology appraisals.
Professor Sir Michael Rawlins, Chair of NICE, said: "David has been involved with NICE since its conception. We are all greatly indebted to David for the enormous amount of work he has done for the Institute, for his dedication and extraordinarily good humour. The Institute is very grateful for his contribution and we wish him every success in his new post.
"We are particularly delighted that David will be working with the LMCA who play a key role in representing the views of patient and carer organisations in all aspects of the Institute's work."
David Pink said today, "It has been a great privilege to have been involved with NICE from the very outset, and much has been achieved in a short time. While I will be sad to leave NICE behind, I am very much looking forward to the opportunities to recognise and improve the lives of people with long term conditions through the work of the LMCA."
