Help using the NICE guidance for patients and the public search

What the columns show

First column: ID

Each piece of guidance we produce is given an ID as well as a title.

You can use the reference number as a link to see all the information there is relating to that piece of guidance.

You can also sort the results table by reference number.

Second column: title

Each title links to the patient, carer and public version of the guidance (usually the PDF format).

Usually it will be called 'understanding NICE guidance', e.g. CG63 Diabetes in pregnancy: understanding NICE guidance.

Sometimes it will be called 'quick reference guide', e.g. PH6 Behaviour change: quick reference guide. These summarise our recommendations for the public and professionals.

You can sort the table alphabetically by title.

Third column: summary

This column shows the links to various formats of guidance written for patients, usually PDF or Word and sometimes a welsh version.

It also give you a link to all the other guidance documents and other information we produce for health and other professionals.
