Proposed 21st wave technology appraisals

Topic Renal transplantation (organ rejection) - belatacept

Scoping workshop - Change of date notification

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has been invited to carry out the appraisals of belatacept for the prevention of organ rejection in renal transplantation and everolimus for the prevention of organ rejection in renal transplantation

We have recently sent out invitations to consultees and commentators to a scoping workshop for these proposed appraisals for Wednesday 3rd June 2009.

We have been advised that the British Renal Society is holding its annual conference from Monday 1st June - Wednesday 3rd June 2009. As the last day of the conference coincides with the date of the scoping workshop it may mean we have a limited number of people interested in renal disease who will be able to attend and contribute to the scoping workshop.

In light of this information the Institute has taken the decision to rearrange the scoping workshop to be held on Tuesday 9 June 2009 at the NICE offices in central London. We hope that this will enable those stakeholders who otherwise would have been unable to attend the scoping workshop due to the conflicting date with the British Renal Society’s annual conference to attend and provide their valuable knowledge and opinions.

If you have any comments or concerns please do not hesitate on 0161 870 3155 or email jenniffer.alty@nice.org.uk
