The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has been invited to carry out an appraisal of clofarabine for the treatment of acute myeloid leukaemia.
We have recently initiated a consultation on the draft remit, draft scope and provisional matrix of consultees and commentators for this proposed appraisal.
The manufacturer of clofarabine (Genzyme Therapeutics) has advised us that the clinical program is ongoing and the regulatory filing strategy for this product is still under consideration. At this stage of development the evidence base is not yet sufficiently mature to inform a formal scoping exercise.
In light of this information, the Institute will not be progressing with the scoping exercise at this time. Consequently the scoping workshop arranged for the 1st May 2009 at 13:30 has been cancelled.
As this topic has not been formally referred to the Institute, it will continue to be monitored through the Topic Selection process.

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has been invited to carry out an appraisal of larotaxel for the second line treatment of advanced, recurrent or metastatic pancreatic cancer.

The manufacturer of larotaxel (sanofi-aventis UK ) has advised us that the clinical program is ongoing and the regulatory filing strategy for this product is still under consideration. At this stage of development the evidence base is not yet sufficiently mature to inform a formal scoping exercise.
In light of this information, the Institute will not be progressing with the scoping exercise at this time. Consequently the scoping workshop arranged for the 6 November 2008 at 14:00 has been cancelled.
