2006/2007 Project
The 2005/06 project tested the impact of an online educational tool in raising knowledge of recommendations in the NICE guideline on referral for suspected cancer. This was successful so we have commissioned further online educational tools.
Online educational tools have been developed by BMJ Learning which cover aspects of the recommendations relating to the NICE guidelines on:
- Anxiety and depression in association with NICE
- Smoking cessation - in association with NICE
- Tuberculosis in association with NICE
- Epilepsy in association with NICE: an update on diagnosis and management
BMJ Learning has developed two further online educational tools which cover aspects of the recommendations relating to the NICE guidelines on:
These modules are free but you need to register. All you need is a username (your email address) and a password.
The online educational tools will determine and increase knowledge of the recommendations.
The tools are targeted at doctors in primary care for the guidelines on:
- epilepsy
- anxiety and depression
and all healthcare professionals for the guidance on:
- smoking cessation,
- tuberculosis
- obesity
- urinary incontinence
A report describing the development of the educational tools to raise awareness of NICE guidelines on Urinary Incontinence and Obesity will be available here shortly.
The evaluation reports of the above modules describing the stages of the project, how the tools were developed and the results obtained are available:
