How to use NICE guidance to commission high quality services: guide consultation

Following two stakeholder workshops held earlier this year, NICE has developed a “How to” guide on how NICE guidance can be used to support the commissioning of high-quality care and services. This guide is due to be launched at the NICE conference in December 2009. The published guide will be presented in a similar style to the document found here: How to Implement NICE guidance

You are invited to comment on the How to use NICE guidance to commission high quality services

How to use NICE guidance to commission high-quality services: consultation draft

The aim of this consultation is to enable stakeholders to consider the content of the guide and to provide the opportunity to comment, in particular on whether:

  • the framework works for commissioners and aligns the implementation of NICE guidance with the role of commissioning
  • the key messages are correct
  • there any gaps, and if so what should be included
  • the right benefits, levers and processes for using NICE guidance in commissioning have been identified
  • the content is aligned with emerging policy and practice in particular the DH quality agenda and quality standards and World Class Commissioning

We would prefer to receive comments in electronic format by email to penny.barber@nice.org.uk. If you would like to comment please use the consultation comments form and ensure you indicate which page and paragraph your comments refer to. Comments sent by post should be addressed to:
