Johnston A et al (2004) A clinical audit to investigate the compliance of general practitioners to NICE guidelines for the prescribing of anti-obesity drugs sibutramine and orlistat. International Journal of Pharmacy Practice 12: R80.

Description: A clinical audit of orlistat and sibutramine prescribing based on a sample of 490 patient records from thirteen general practices in one primary care trust. The study reported an overall level of compliance with NICE guidance of 60% with wide variation in adherence to the guidance between GP practices.

Description: A clinical audit of orlistat and sibutramine prescribing based on a sample 154 patient records in a single primary care trust. The study reported that prescribing was not in accordance with NICE guidance.

Description: A time series analysis based on 712 patient records from a GP research database and using projections for England and Wales. The study found that implementation was consistent with estimates made in the NICE guidance.
