The NICE field team
NICE has a field-based team of six implementation consultants who work with organisations to help to put our guidance into practice. Each consultant works with NHS, local authority and other organisations in their area, ensuring regular interaction with NICE stakeholders.
The implementation consultants:
- engage with organisations and networks to encourage, inform and facilitate their implementation activities
- gather feedback to underpin all aspects of NICE's work
- gather examples of good practice to share with other organisations
- promote the wide range of tools that NICE provides to help put guidance into practice
The implementation consultants review their approach every six months, to ensure that they are responsive to the needs that have been identified in the field, and that they achieve a fair and full coverage of all relevant organisations and networks.
The team also links with government offices and strategic health authorities to promote awareness of NICE guidance in developing local policy and practice.
Occasional NICE updates are offered to other key networks, including:
- professional groups
- service development networks, such as those for cancer and CHD
- patient forums and health scrutiny committees
The NICE Field Team recently hosted two implementation workshops. The resources from these workshops can be found here:
