The database aims to strengthen NICE implementation by structuring a standardised and simplified approach to the baseline and action planning process/data recording for all topics of guidance. The multi topic database produces fast, accurate reports providing assurance and enabling work prioritizationObjectives
1.To develop and maintain clear, logical, complete and accessible assurance data for each NICE recommendation 2.The database must able to accommodate new guidance as this is developed 3.To ensure actions are risk weighted, have a named lead and a to-do-date 4.To make automated reporting available for individual pieces of guidance and for cross cutting issues 5.To be able to provide the Trust Board with assurance on implementation concerning a single recommendation or for all guidance relevant to the organisationContext
Prior to the development of the database implementation information for each topic of guidance was developed and managed separately. There were problems with the completeness and consistency of data quality. Reporting on implementation for individual pieces of guidance required time consuming manual analysis and high level or complex reporting on issues cutting across separate or all relevant guidance topics was not feasibleMethods
