Cancer Services Collaborative Improvement Partnership

The Cancer Services Collaborative 'Improvement Partnership' (CSC'IP') is a national NHS Programme that supports local cancer service teams (Networks) to improve their cancer and diagnostic services and help reduce their waiting times.

Working closely with the National Cancer Programme, the CSC'IP' works with Networks to achieve the objectives of the NHS Cancer Plan 2000 for all cancer services (excluding paediatrics) and associated services.

CancerHelp UK

CancerHelp UK is the patient information website of Cancer Research UK. There are 5,000 pages of information on cancer types, treatment, coping with cancer and a database of clinical trials written in plain English. You can contact the charity's team of cancer information nurses via the site.

Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)

Cardiac Risk in the Young aims to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.

Cardiomyopathy Association (CMA)

People affected by cardiomyopathy can face a bewildering situation. The Cardiomyopathy Association is there to help them. We work to assist and empower people by helping them to understand cardiomyopathy, allaying their fears and promoting independence. We understand and we sympathise but mostly we take action to help.

Carers UK

Carers UK is an organisation of carers which provides vital information and support for carers. Many carers' health, finances and careers are severely affected as a direct consequence of providing unpaid care. Carers UK campaigns for a better deal for carers.

Caroline Walker Trust, The (CWT)

CWT is a charity that promotes public health through good food by providing nutritional and practical guidance and resources to support eating well across the lifespan.

Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy is the professional, educational and trade union body for the country's 45,000 chartered physiotherapists, physiotherapy students and assistants. It aims to support its members and help them to provide the highest standards of patient care.

Cheshire & North Wales Donor Human Milk Bank

This charitably funded service provides safe donated pasteurised human milk for the protection promotion and support of breastfeeding when mothers' own milk is unavailable. Small premature and vulnerable babies are prioritised to receive this milk as well as other babies whose nutrition and health will benefit from receiving donor breast milk.

Child Accident Prevention Trust

A national charity who offer services for parents and professionals aiming to reduce accidental death or injury for children and young people.

Child Brain Injury Trust (CBIT)

The Child Brain Injury Trust is the organisation that people turn to regarding childhood acquired brain injury. For families and professionals - information, training and support.

Child Poverty Action Group
CPAG is the leading charity campaigning for the abolition of poverty among children and young people in the UK and for the improvement of the lives of low-income families.

We are the UK's largest charity dedicated to fighting childhood leukaemia. We fund treatment into the causes, treatment and prevention of childhood leukaemia; we fund welfare projects to help minimise the stress of treatment; and we campaign on issues affecting leukaemic children or those at risk of developing leukaemia.

Children's Heart Federation (CHF)

Children's Heart Federation is the leading children's heart charity and the umbrella body for voluntary organisations in the UK and Eire working to meet the medical and social needs of children and young people with heart conditions and their families so that they can live their life to the full.

Children's Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF)

Children's Liver Disease Foundation is the UK's leading charity fighting liver disease in childhood. Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia Support Association (CLLSA)

Circulation Foundation

The Circulation Foundation is a charitable institution and operating division of the Vascular Society of Great Britain & Ireland. Its main aims are ? to raise funds for research into vascular disease; to provide information for patients and their families and to raise awareness of the threat vascular disease poses to life, limb and lifestyle.

Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA)

Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) is a UK-wide support organisation for people affected by cleft lip and palate, their families and health professionals. Providing advice, information and support through phone, email, website and leaflets. Services include specialist feeding equipment, trained parent contacts, confidence building activities for children and young people and help for adults returning to treatment.

Climb (Children Living with Inherited Metabolic Diseases)

Climb is the only charity in the UK to provide advice, information and support on over 730 different metabolic diseases. We provide to support to young people, adults, families and professionals. Climb also funds reasearch.

Coeliac UK

Coeliac UK is the leading charity working for people with coeliac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis (DH). Our mission is to improve the lives of people with coeliac disease through support, campaigning and research.

Commission for Racial Equality
The Commission for Racial Equality is a publicly funded, non-governmental body set up under the Race Relations Act 1976 to tackle racial discrimination and promote racial equality.
Community Health Involvement & Empowerment Forum (CHIEF)

COMMUNITY HEALTH INVOLVEMENT & EMPOWERMENT FORUM (CHIEF), led by BAME (Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic) community service users, aims to reduce health inequalities and improve the quality of life of the public, particularly the Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic Communities in England & Wales.

Crohn's and Colitis UK

Crohn's and Colitis UK (formerly NACC) provides support and information for patients and families living with these conditions, campaigns for better health services for IBD and raises funds for research. Colitis and Crohn's disease are both forms of inflammatoroy bowel disease (IBD) and affect over 240, 000 people in the UK.


www.csections.org provides balanced information on caesarean birth. It details current medical research and practises enabling women to actively discuss ALL birth alternatives. Unbalanced information can leave some women with unrealistic expectations leading to unnecessary trauma. With accurate knowledge caesareans can be positive experiences for many women.
