Equality considerations

NICE is committed to promoting equality of opportunity, eliminating unlawful discrimination and fostering good relations between people with particular protected characteristics and others.

Bladder cancer is more common in men than in women, and most cases happen in people agedĀ 60 and over. Bladder cancer is more common in white people than in black or Asian people. Age, sex and race are protected characteristics under the Equality Act. People with cancer are considered to have a disability under the Equality Act.
