Who we're looking for

We’re looking for people with experience of the medicines used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes in children and young people. This may be as a parent or carer of a child with type 2 diabetes, or it could be as a young person (aged over 16) with type 2 diabetes.

We would also like the successful candidate to have an understanding of the issues important to patients, people using services, unpaid carers, communities and the public.

As a lay member, you will have this experience and understanding:

  • through personal experience you have of medicines to treat type 2 diabetes in children and young people, provided for you by the NHS
  • as a relative or unpaid carer of someone who has experience of medicines to treat type 2 diabetes in children
  • as an advocate, volunteer, or officer of a relevant voluntary organisation or support group.
