6.1 The Committee was advised that, in most patients, cluster headaches respond to medical treatments. However, a small number of patients have headaches that do not respond and they may have very distressing symptoms. Treatment choices for these patients are limited and sphenopalatine ganglion stimulation may be 1 option for offering them some relief.
