The recommendation marked  last had an evidence review in 2009. Minor changes have been made to the wording to bring the language and style up to date, without changing the meaning.
Minor changes since publication
September 2022: We updated recommendation 1.2.1 in line with new legislation on who can certify fit notes, to include registered nurses, occupational therapists, pharmacists and physiotherapists.
