April 2026 exceptional surveillance of peripheral arterial disease: diagnosis and management (NICE guideline CG147)

In April 2026, we reviewed the existing recommendations on the management of critical limb ischaemia.

Surveillance decision

We will update the guideline to consider the role of drug-eluting stents (DES) and drug coated balloon angioplasty (DCBA) in people with chronic limb threatening ischaemia (CLTI) caused by femoropopliteal disease.
