This information explains the advice about the care and treatment of patients with advanced breast cancer that is set out in NICE clinical guideline 81.
This is an update of advice on advanced breast cancer that NICE produced in 2009. The advice on exercise for people with lymphoedema published in 2014, and can be found at the top of the table in the Complications section.

Yes, if you have advanced breast cancer, or are a family member or carer of a person with advanced breast cancer.
No, if you have rare or non-cancerous tumours of the breast.
No, if you have early breast cancer (except for the advice on exercise for people with lymphoedema, which applies to you if you have early or advanced breast cancer).
