Resource impact statement

No significant additional resource impact is anticipated

We do not expect this guideline update to have a significant impact on resources; that is:

  • the resource impact of implementing any single guideline recommendation will be less than £1 million per year in England (or £1,800 per 100,000 population) and
  • the resource impact of implementing the whole guideline in England will be less than £5 million per year (or £9,100 per 100,000 population).

There may be some costs locally for biopsy and assessment of human epidermal growth factor 2 (HER2) status. There may be an increase in costs associated with management in people with a change in receptor status but these are not expected to be significant.

This service is commissioned by NHS England and clinical commissioning groups. Providers are NHS hospital trusts and specialist cancer providers.

The 2009 resource impact products were removed from the website when the guideline was updated in 2017. If you would like access to these, please email resourceimpactassessment@nice.org.uk.
