The developer may make a focused call for evidence on specific clinical questions or sub-questions after completing its initial searches. It is able to make a call for evidence at any point during development of the guideline and stakeholders are usually given 4weeks to respond. The developer will ask all registered stakeholders for this evidence.
The developer may not issue any calls for evidence for a guideline if the committee feels it is not necessary.
The economic plan, review questions and search strategies will be available on the website 5 weeks before the draft guideline consultation starts.

The Committee looks at the evidence and develops the recommendations in the guideline.

Consultation on the draft scope is complete and the scope is being modified in the light of the comments received. The final scope will be posted here on the website. It will define what aspects of care/service delivery the guideline will cover and to whom it will apply.
The National Collaborating Centre and the Institute are in the process of agreeing details of the workplan including how the development will progress, the membership of the committee and timescales.
The draft scope consultation and committee recruitment are taking place between 02 - 30 March 2015.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has commissioned the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health to update the clinical guideline on depression in adults which was published by NICE in October 2009.
