The timelines for this guideline have been extended to allow for work to be undertaken that will ensure recommendations can be accompanied with a comprehensive package of support that will enable their managed implementation. The committee has now completed its work and we have their final output. NICE recognises that the further delay to this guideline has led to uncertainty amongst clinicians and service providers. However, we want to ensure that all of the issues raised at consultation, including the management of AAA, service delivery, and the need for patient information, are properly addressed, and that the guideline has the confidence of not only the clinicians who will apply it, but more importantly, the patients whose treatment it will inform.
