December 2025 exceptional surveillance of vitamin D: supplement use in specific population groups (NICE guideline PH46)

In December 2025, we checked this guideline to consider possible inconsistencies with the NICE guideline on maternal and child nutrition (NG247) and current NHS advice on the use of vitamin D.

Surveillance decision

We will stand down this guideline (PH56) because it is no longer applicable to the wider healthcare system context and it is inconsistent with current NHS advice on the use of vitamin D.
