About this information
NICE quality standards help to improve key areas of health or social care so that people are offered the best care available.
This information explains the care and support described in the NICE quality standard for borderline and antisocial personality disorders. Borderline and antisocial personality disorders are 2 different conditions with different management and services. These 2 personality disorders have been covered in 1 quality standard, but this does not imply that they are the same.
For borderline personality disorder, the quality standard covers adults aged 18 and over and young people after puberty. For antisocial personality disorder it covers only adults aged 18 and over.
