Innovation through HTA: theme for HTAi 2021 Annual Meeting announced

Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi) has announced the theme for the 2021 Annual Meeting which will be held from 19-23 June in Manchester.

Co-hosts NICE, the All Wales Therapeutics and Toxicology Centre (AWTTC) and Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) have recorded a welcome message for conference delegates which will set out plans for the event.

Foccussing on ‘Innovation through HTA’, HTAi along with the local hosts and the International Scientific Programme Committee have created a programme that examines the challenges of embedding innovation in the health service.

The meeting will highlight the need for HTA bodies like NICE to evolve and innovate in order to meet the challenges of new types of evidence and personalised technologies, and to support patient access to evidence-based care.

HTAi Annual Meetings bring together more than  1,000 researchers, policymakers, industry partners, health service providers, technology developers and patients from around the world. For 2021, HTAi is planning for delegates to participate both in person and virtually to share information and best practices, from cutting-edge technologies to advancing healthcare through system development.

The HTAi Annual Meeting will provide unique opportunities to forge new partnerships that maximise the collective impact of the HTA community. Hosting the meeting in Manchester will give NICE and its partners a platform to showcase the UK’s world class expertise in HTA. With its rich history in scientific achievement, the city of Manchester will be the perfect location, providing a vibrant and creative backdrop to the 18th HTAi Annual Meeting.’
