It is that time of year again… The shortlist for the 2018 NICE shared learning awards has been finalised and we’re ready to share the exciting news.

All of the shortlisted entries will present posters at the NICE conference in June. Where our three finalists will also take to the stage to share their work:

The calibre of entries to the NICE shared learning awards continues to impress me.

This year, we received 76 shared learning examples, of which 20 were shortlisted.

It is always a pleasure to read them, but a difficulty to judge them – they are all good examples in my mind.

Our shortlist reflects the range of entries we received from health organisations, local authorities and voluntary organisations. They cover a broad range of topics including diabetes care, pain management and medicine optimisation in care homes.

We’ll be taking a closer look at our three finalists over the coming months so make sure you keep an eye on our website for the details. The competition winner will be announced in June at the NICE conference in Manchester.

NICE Shared Learning Awards provide the opportunity for NHS services, local authorities and other organisations to showcase their innovative examples of how they have implemented NICE guidance.

Last year’s prize was scooped by Mansfield District Council for their ASSIST project, which helps vulnerable people to be discharged quickly and safely from hospital to home.
