Our associates support the uptake and implementation of NICE guidance to embed high quality, safe, cost-effective prescribing and medicines optimisation.
They work closely with us so they can communicate effectively with their colleagues and networks about new and existing NICE guidance and support implementation activities. Our associates also share their experiences from their locality and practice, providing information, insights and system intelligence to help us ensure NICE outputs are useful, usable and used.
Our associates can help you:
- Understand and apply NICE guidance and quality standards relating to medicines in your local setting, at a population level and for the care of individual people.
- Understand how NICE guidance can help you and help you work through the implementation challenges.
- Share your medicines optimisation insights with NICE.
About the NICE associates
Our associates are a community of practice comprising over 70 pharmacists, nurses and doctors from a range of NHS or equivalent organisations, in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. They work within their organisation, across their local health economy and with each other to develop and share ideas and examples of good practice relating to medicines optimisation. Associates are not employed by NICE but their employers have a memorandum of understanding with us.
