Update information
June 2020: We have reviewed the evidence and made a change to recommendation 1.4.7 to clarify the use of isotonic crystalloids for routine maintenance in term neonates. This recommendation is marked [amended 2020].
Minor changes since publication
October 2022: In recommendation 1.3.1 we updated the volume of fluid bolus used for intravenous fluid resuscitation from 20 ml/kg to 10 ml/kg. See the surveillance report for more information.
