Acute coronary syndromes: scoping workshop, consultation and final scope
The original remit from the Department of Health in the 14th wave for the assessment and management of acute coronary syndromes was very broad. It was clear from stakeholder consultation that theNHS particularly requires guidance on the management of unstable angina and non ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI), and there is less need for guidance for ST elevation MI, where outcomes are improving and standards of care are clear. Accordingly, NICE requested a revision of the remit andthe Department of Health asked the Institute:
To prepare a clinical guideline on the assessment and management of unstable angina and non-ST elevation myocardial infarction.
A revised scope has therefore been developed.
