Using this information
Much of the care for women with diabetes who are having a baby is the same whether they already have diabetes before getting pregnant or develop diabetes during pregnancy (gestational diabetes). But there are some differences, which are described in this information.
-
If you already have diabetes before getting pregnant, see women who already have diabetes and care for all women with diabetes during pregnancy and during and after the birth.
-
If you are being tested for and/or are diagnosed with gestational diabetes, see women who develop diabetes during pregnancy and care for all women with diabetes during pregnancy and during and after the birth.
